Youth Outreach Programs
Free summer camp for kids from low-income families

This summer hundreds of underprivileged children will attend a free week of summer camp, thanks to generous individuals with a heart for kids.
For a gift of only $85, donors can send a child to camp, where they will enjoy active outdoor adventure, trust-building exercises on the low ropes course, fun in the water, games on the field, mentoring by trained and caring staff, and chapel services where they will learn that God loves and cares for them. Beautiful Tshimakain ("shi'-muh-kin") Creek Camp sits on 125 wooded acres bordering the Spokane River near Ford, Washington. Low-income children and at-risk youth are provided a wide range of supervised outdoor activities, as well as the opportunity to meet and worship their Creator.

The Union Gospel Mission's youth outreach program equips local churches to reach out to at-risk kids. Camps are provided in cooperation with these local churches. The Union Gospel Mission partners with youth groups from nine different churches each summer, and the youth group students become the camp counselors, worship team, and work crew. They also plan the camp schedule, activities, worship time, and Bible studies.
