An update on Eddie and Kim Collins, who were featured in the February 08 Mission News

Kim’s face lit up with a bright smile when she talked about Christmas with her family this year – a far cry from three years ago when she turned Eddie away on Christmas Eve due to his addiction. Then, Eddie was scrawny, unkempt, and self-centered. Not only did all the holiday planning for their four children and one grandchild fall to Kim, Eddie was a drag on the festivities. Last Christmas was their first with Christ at the center and Eddie clean and sober. On Christmas Eve, the family snuggled under a pile of blankets to watch the Nativity Story together, and on Christmas morning, Eddie demonstrated a selfless love for his family. “It was so exciting to see him finally be the father I always knew he could be.”
