UGM Motors at a Glance

At first glance, UGM Motors could be mistaken for just another car lot on auto row.  The new location at 7219 E Sprague – with a complete automotive repair facility and detail bay on site – offers a number of advantages over the old one.  Instead of 20 to 30 cars for sale, the new lot holds 70 cars plus.  The new repair shop has four bays, 3 hoists, and a separate detail bay – all in all, room for about 18 cars – making it possible to offer repair services to the community.  Big improvements to be sure, but as the cover story illustrates, the original purpose of UGM Motors remains consistent: to provide job training and experience to both our clients and the community in a safe, healing environment.

• Job Training:  Classes on safety, tool usage, and diagnostics are complemented by hands-on experience under the supervision of certified technicians.

• Auto Sales:  Integrity and customer satisfaction are our top concerns.  “We try to let buyers know everything we know,” said sales manager, Jim Stroh.  Proceeds from car sales are used to provide services to the homeless. To see our inventory, go to ugmmotors.org/inventory.

• Vehicle Assistance Program:  One to two cars are given away each month to families or individuals in need.  Application and interview required.
