Community helping fill Mission's freezers with turkeys

SPOKANE -- With the help of the Spokane community, the Union Gospel Mission will be able to feed families in need this Thanksgiving. With the help of the Spokane community, the Union Gospel Mission will be able to feed families in need this Thanksgiving. The Union Gospel Mission helps feed about 500 people Thanksgiving dinner and provides turkeys to 26 other ministries that feed an additional 700 people every year. They rely strictly on turkey donations but there seems to be a lack of effort this year. With just one week left until the holiday, the mission had only received 10 turkeys as of Thursday.
