Update #4 - Banquet & More

We're thankful for your interest in the new women's and children's shelter in Coeur d'Alene. Word is spreading - from our conversations with church and community leaders in Kootenai County, to the regional news coverage over the past several months.

This April, we'll be sharing the vision for the shelter with engaged partners at our Annual Banquet. We'll use the time to reflect and celebrate what God has done in the last 60 years, but also look ahead to the needs of - and our expansion in - Kootenai County. I hope you'll join us at the banquet, and bring others from Kootenai County. Tables are filling up fast!

Highlights of the last month include the following:

  • The Pastors Breakfast (January 28) was attended by nearly 100 church leaders and other individuals in the faith community, representing 32 Kootenai County churches. Pastors caught the vision as well as God's heart for the poor, and a church-wide effort is forming to help fund our effort.
  • Construction plans are well underway. A general contractor (Leone & Keeble) was chosen to work with engineering consultants and Architects West. The architectural team is wrapping up focus groups to finalize blueprints.

Next month we'll bring you up to date on project costs and funding.

Serving together,

Phil Altmeyer
