Union Gospel Mission Men’s Shelter 1224 E. Trent Ave, Spokane, WA 99202 Opened: 1951 |
Since 1951, the Union Gospel Mission has been meeting the physical needs of people in crisis. Food, shelter and clothing, however, are just the beginning. The earnestly desired end for our clients is a transformed heart through Jesus Christ – a realization that they are loved by God and significant as His children. Such change impacts every aspect of their lives: physical, emotional, intellectual, social and spiritual.
Not every man who enters our doors, however, is in the same place. Part of the grace-based philosophy that permeates our ministry is dealing with each person as an individual. During an initial evaluation process, staff members help the men who come to us identify their short-term needs and long-term plans. Some simply need a few nights lodging in a safe, sober environment. Many more need help getting back on their feet, and the Mission has a variety of ways to do that.
