The Union Gospel Mission Youth Outreach program helps catch kids before they fall. Director Dennis Roach works with area churches throughout the year, particularly those in lower income neighborhoods, equipping their youth programs to reach at-risk kids.

As part of that developing relationship, youth groups invite neighborhood children to summer camp — a week offered free of charge to low-income families through the generous sponsorship of caring individuals. For just $86, you can send a child to a potentially life-changing week of summer camp.

The Mission’s beautiful Tshimakain (shi-muh-kin) Creek Camp sits on 125 acres bordering the Spokane River and offers a wide range of outdoor recreation. While fun abounds, every activity is carefully centered on building confidence, trust, and relationships — and through those relationships, communicating the unconditional love of Christ. Best of all, when the week is over, the relationships established continue to be nurtured through local churches.
